STAR WARS
EPISODE VII
THE KRYPTAL PROJECT

Welcome to the unofficial web site for Star Wars: Episode VII. As most know, George Lucas has announced that the Saga is complete with Episodes I through VI and that he will not be releasing any more Star Wars films. However, we also know from Mr. Lucas' track record that he often changes his mind and even surprises us with things like TV series. Furthermore, as a creative mastermind, if something apeals to his vast imagination he may not be able to resist acting on it and creating a new work of genius. He said himself that originally there was no plan to go back and create the prequel trilogy, but Mr. Lucas found the potential story and material too intriguing to pass up and went on another nine year "detour."

There are countless novels, comic strips, video games, and even a few ewok aventures that follow the events of the final Star Wars installment, Return of the Jedi. Many fans would like to see some of these stories unfold onto the silver screen in a new Episode to continue the saga. However, it is my personal feeling that the highlights and strong points of Star Wars' "Expanded Universe" following Episode VI are too spread out over many books and seperate adventures and must be condensed into shorter, more compact stories if they are to be realized on the big screen. Furthermore, I feel that if a sequel trilogy were to follow "Jedi," it would have to be fresh and new while still maintaing a strong connection with the "Prequel" and "Original Trilogies." A new series should not feel like just an extension of a story that was already completed; it should look and feel like the continuing epic of a saga that we only thought was fully explored and complete. Episode VII should reveal that there are many mysteries and stories directly connected to events of the previous films that were left unanswered. Episode VII should even reach back into the vast history and uncharted territories extending long before Episode I.

In recent years, great interest has been taken in the ancient ages of the Star Wars universe, especially in the realm of video games. This is evedent in the creation of Knights of the Old Republic and its sequel, two games created for the X-Box and PC. It occurred to me that if some basic elements were taken from both the sequel material of the "Expanded Universe" and the historic material such as Knights of the Old Republic, and were combined together with fresh ideas and new, expansive storylines; a superb movie could be made without being a rehashing of the first six episodes, and yet maintain a strong connection with them and truly continue the story.

I am only one of countless dedicated fans, changed for the better and enlightened by the magnificent piece of art that is Star Wars. It has touched my life and inspired my creative imagination over the years. Still, it takes more than just being a big fan and a few good ideas to come up with a truly unique and genius plot idea that might actually succeed on the big screen. After several years of working on and off in my spare time to tap into a brilliant idea and create an original plot that could continue the Star Wars saga and expand the series to broader horizons, I believe I have finally developed a plot genius enough to convince even Mr. Lucas to carry the mantle of Star Wars film-making once again.

I believe this kind of genius is not just created by someone; it happens. I may be creative and imaginitive, but certainly no genius. This grand idea developed over time from inspiration, influence, and lots of brainstorming that have finally come together to create the foundation for what could be the next Star Wars movie.

As most fans have now heard, Mr. Lucas plans to release two TV series between Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope, one animated and the other live action. He is also re-releasing the Star Wars saga, one episode at a time, in 3-D format for theatrical release starting 2007. That would put Return of the Jedi at 2012. This would give Mr. Lucas a six year break in the production of actual Star Wars filming between '07 and '12 to explore other venues in the film business before beginning work on another Star Wars installment. The most likely date of release for a new film would be 2015, ten years following Revenge's theatrical release and three years after Jedi 3D's theatrical release. This would be 32 years after Jedi's original release.

Thus, I have placed the timeframe for Star Wars: Episode VII thirty-two years after the events of Episode VI. The story follows a few of the original cast from the first six films, while introducing a host of brand new characters, aliens, and droids. The story also includes many characters and locations from "Expanded Universe" material and Star Wars ancient mythology, especially pertaining to the archaic wars between the Jedi and Sith of old. Star Wars: Episode VII - The Kryptal Project and the following two stories do no continue the adventures of any Del Rey or Dark Horse publications or other "EU" material and merely include a few central characters and some of the basic elements from these other fans' stories that have become widely recognized in the Star Wars universe. The sole purpose of Episode VII is to continue the Star Wars film saga and expand the timeless epics of Episodes I-VI.

So sit back, relax, and enjoy the web site as you explore my ideas for three new Star Wars episodes that will launch you into an exciting new universe that takes the saga to a whole new level. May the Force be with you...
